Front Ranges was started with the goal of helping more people explore the beauty that exists within our own backyard.
We offer custom trail running and hiking adventures in the Canadian Rockies including Canmore, Kananaskis, and Banff, as well as skills clinics and courses to equip individuals with the necessary tools for planning their own safe, inspiring, and unforgettable trips.
Our focus is on highly customized trips rather than cookie-cutter adventures because we know that everyone is looking for something a little bit different. All of our trips are designed with your goals, needs and interests in mind. We take up to date trail conditions into consideration to make sure that you have the best experience possible during your time in the Canadian Rockies.
Hi, I’m Adam!
In Spring 2017, I drove from Vancouver to Canmore with everything I owned packed into my van. The plan was to stay for a summer job while I figured out what came next. What I found instead was a seemingly endless landscape of valleys, peaks, and ridges, where my growing passion for hiking, trail running, skiing, and climbing quickly became my way into that world. The Rockies opened the door to a lifetime of possibilities and I’ve been here ever since.
Over the years, I’ve competed in trail races across Canada and set a handful of Fastest Known Times. While I love challenging myself through competition, I always come back to the limitless terrain of the Front Ranges. I find the most joy in dreaming up new alpine traverses close to home and helping others push past their own barriers through shared mountain experiences. This led to the founding of Front Ranges Guiding.
Challenge looks different for everyone. It might mean stepping off of the paved path for the first time or finding the confidence to join a group run without fear of judgement. It could be staying motivated when temperatures plunge into the negative double digits during our long winters or simply carving out time to plan a hike with friends. Whatever your challenge is, I’d be honoured to be a part of your next adventure.
The Front Ranges are the kind of place where the potential continues to expand with every summit you reach. You only experience the Rockies for the first time once. Let us show you why we keep coming back season after season, year after year.

What Our Guests Are Saying
“We first met Adam in June 2022 in Banff, Alberta, when my friend Melissa and I hired him as a private guide to show us some amazing mountain trails. From the moment we started hiking, it was clear he wasn’t just any guide. His knowledge of the mountains was incredible, and his energy, kindness, and calm confidence made the whole experience unforgettable.
Melissa and I got to meet up with him again last year for dinner in Banff, and it just reaffirmed what I already knew, he’s not only an exceptional athlete and guide but also an all-around great human. Someone I trust completely in the mountains and genuinely value as a friend”
